‘Mine today, yours tomorrow’ - this slogan, represented by the Italian hashtag #mioggituodomani – has been chosen by Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, organiser of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags, for today’s launch, via its various communication channels, of a new campaign, to present their report outlining the sustainability-related activities carried out and results achieved.
This is a natural stage in a journey that began in 2020 with the preparation of a new Sustainability Report, drawn up according to international standards and with a new graphic layout. Through this campaign, Riva del Garda Fierecongressi aims to explain its commitment in the environmental, social and economic fields, by amplifying the positive effects and favouring an increasing involvement of all stakeholders.
Growing global sensitivity towards sustainability issues in the footwear and accessories industry, combined with the awareness of the role played by Riva del Garda Fierecongressi on a national and international scale, have, over the years, led to undertaking a virtuous path. This was strengthened in 2014 by the application of the Sustainable Events Management System in compliance with the UNI ISO 2012 standard, a certification that has enabled it to be a forerunner in Italy for the meeting industry.
The forced halt to all trade fair and congress activities in 2020 and the consequent revolution in the way of doing business, also forced Riva del Garda Fierecongressi to reconsider its strategic objectives and better align them with its values, commitments and activities. In this sense, the priorities suggested by the UN 2030 Agenda provided significant stimulus. Indeed, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified by the UN for the next decade, together with the theme of water, are the protagonists of the 2019-2020 Sustainability Report, and, in fact, the entire programme for sustainability and corporate social responsibility actions of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi.
