Riva del Garda Fierecongressi is back on the scene from 11th to 14th December 2020, with the 94th edition of Expo Riva Schuh and the 5th edition of Gardabags, bringing the traditional dates forward by a month.
This decision goes against the trend of many other events which have decided to postpone, (or even cancel), their next editions. But this is “an important, strategic decision – states the Chairman of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini – because it will facilitate the re-launch of the supply chain for a specific market segment, and will encourage a revival, from both the business and informative points of view.” The decision is the result of an ongoing, open dialogue between the fair organisers, the exhibiting companies and buyers, and also discussions with the Representative Institutions and International Agencies, who have emphasised “the common desire to not give in passively to the moment, but to react by trying to transform the crisis into an opportunity – underlined Chairman Pellegrini – from a positive impulse for companies in this sector to a real relaunch of international exchange.”
The trade fair dedicated to footwear and fashion accessories will provide the opportunity to present the 2021-2022 Autumn/Winter collections well in advance, and will have a new look, complying fully with all the rules that safeguard the health of those involved. Strict sanitisation procedures are planned for all areas as well as the use of PPE, and the halls inside the exhibition centre have been completely redesigned in order to enable social distancing. Access will be monitored, even within the individual stands, and opening times will be extended.
From July to November, Riva del Garda Fierecongressi has scheduled a calendar of webinars targeted at the sector, which will kick off on Wednesday 22nd July with "AFTER THE COVID STORM: FROM DIFFICULTIES TO RELAUNCH - how the world footwear market is currently behaving and how will it behave? - a chance to look into the footwear market data and trends at international level. “A means of coming together, that will help to further strengthen the close-knit network of international relationships that have always been one of the strategic advantages of the event – states the Managing Director of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Alessandra Albarelli – as well as providing operators with a tool for monitoring and interpreting market trends.”
