Everyone is well aware of the great awareness with which Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, the organizing company of Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags, has for years approached issues of social and environmental importance such as disability, food waste and sustainability.
In particular, a strong position seems to be taken by the company with regard to the very relevant issue of environmental protection, in which Riva del Garda Fierecongressi aims more and more at engaging all the stakeholders that revolve around its business, starting from suppliers.
It is precisely in this direction that almost all of the collaborations undertaken for the trade fair and congress events organised by this company are moving, including the one relating to the redevelopment of Pavilion D, the new exclusive location of the Gardabags trade fair.
"The project stems from a desire to recover, reuse and time plan the building and the choices made in terms of materials used. - has clarified one of the architects responsible for the renovation, Fabio Cella (Tale Office Rovereto). ‘’Pavilion D is an industrial building that is being emptied and redeveloped in terms of materials and function, in accordance with a timeframe based on phases or development lots. This is a fundamental approach to design sustainability: to enhance what we have in terms of both architecture and culture of the territory, trying to highlight the existing elements while minimizing the architectural intervention’’.
The sharing of objectives with the client and the desire to contribute concretely to the construction of a fair business that is more attentive to the environment, however, is not only limited to the design phase, but also takes the form of a conscious and competent use of materials.
"The materials used for the spaces and interior fittings are very simple, and deliberately recall an unrefined industrial approach: wood, iron, plexiglass - explains Architect Malossini (Tale Office Rovereto)- The first two materials are used to define the new reception and meeting spaces, and are easily recyclable and inserted in their supply chain of origin. Plexiglass, on the other hand, is a plastic material used for aesthetic purposes and for artistic characterization of the entire pavilion D, and the recovery and recycling of the material by the supplier company has already been contractually agreed and will be introduced again into the production cycle as a reshuffle.
