A new approach to the outdoor world and the 2-mile trend define the fashion trends for men's footwear for the AW21-22 season, and result in multifunctional and comfortable footwear. These are the focal points developed by WGSN for Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags.

Two trends are set to dominate men's footwear for the coming winter season. On the one hand, the renewed desire to be in the open air, in the midst of nature, translates into multifunctional outdoor footwear. On the other hand, the changing habits resulting from the pandemic extend the 2-mile trend, with comfortable products that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. WGSN identifies five style forecasts for Expo Riva Schuh for the coming winter season in terms of menswear.

The Premium Hiker model brings the mountains to the city with boots that strike a perfect balance between performance, comfort and leisurewear. Featuring outdoor-proof materials, shiny leathers, biodegradable or water-based covers as a more environmentally responsible option, they come with basic accessories and padded details.

The Adorned Mule brings the comfort of being at home outdoors too, with a baroque style in which decoration is the leading feature. Studs, beaded embroidery, chunky chains, antique medal charms, ornate buckles, and magical animal themes add an aura of eclectic folklore to this proposal.

Soft, supple, comfortable, the Outdoor-Indoor Boot perfectly interprets the 2-mile trend: multi-functional and comfortable, they innovate the approach to the outdoor world with tactile and waterproof materials, extreme padded volumes, design solutions to protect against extreme climates, and rubber soles.

A great classic returns, reinterpreted with signature details and updated materials: the Reworked Apron Toe. Casual and timeless, its new aesthetic includes finishes and details that improve performance, modular features for multi-purpose solutions, chunky soles, new colours and colour blocking.

With formal aesthetics and long-lasting appeal, the Industrial Boot comes in shiny leathers, metal accessories with polished finishes, as well as recycled materials. Here too there is room for modularity, for example with the addition of elements such as removable gaiters that transform the boot into a shoe. The soles are protective, with increased volumes, and made of sustainable materials such as natural rubber.
