The trends of the world's footwear market, and also the most up-to-date fashion trends: the opening talk which today officially inaugurated the 89th edition of Expo Riva Schuh provided the opportunity for a focus on the world of footwear and its evolution.

The analysis of data from the most recent editions of the event demonstrated an ever-increasing connection between online and offline and a broadening of the product range from companies who are heading more and more towards the concept of the total look. Two aspects which - as confirmed by the Managing Director of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Giovanni Laezza – fully reflect the trends of the international market.

João Maia, Managing Director of APICCAPS, on the other hand, underlined how footwear production is getting closer and closer to consumer markets, with re-shoring phenomena towards the main European manufacturing countries, whereas China has reduced its market share in favour of other Asian countries, such as Vietnam.

From economic trends to the more fashionable aspect: Cinzia Malvini, customs and fashion journalist for La7 and Book Moda, explained how renewed attention to functionality, decorative aspects and eco-sustainability are core themes for the fashion collections of the world's major brands, especially when it comes to accessories.

At the opening talk of Expo Riva Schuh, Garda-bags was also presented, the event which is all about accessories, bags, purses, belts and gloves, which will go live at the Riva del Garda Palavela from June 16th to 19th 2018.
