Bolton Footwear, Labora and Angel Shoes are the South African companies participating at Expo Riva Schuh, the leading international exhibition for volume production footwear taking place from16 to 19 June 2018 at the Palafiere of Riva del Garda (HALL NEW C2 - Stand H23/H23a).
The Show celebrates its 90th edition this year, paying homage to the history and roots of the event, which first came about as a chance for representatives and buyers from the world of footwear to get together whilst on holiday on the shores of Lake Garda. Today, Expo Riva Schuh has grown considerably to become the key international event for volume footwear and a leading showcase for the world’s major production areas. At this edition, over 1,400 exhibitors from more than 40 countries will come together in an area of more than 32,000m2 to showcase their very best collections for Spring/Summer 2019 and their re-assortment of the 2018/2019 winter season.
Bolton Footwear, one of South Africa’s leading footwear companies, produces a wide range of locally manufactured collections complemented by a selection of well-known global licensed brands. LaboraShoes is a strategic supplier to one of Africa’s leading retailers and has in-house design and development capabilities with an unusual level of production flexibility. Angel Footwear, the new entry at the South Africa stand this year, has a niche market for the manufacturing of men's, ladies and children's stitch-down footwear. The company also specialises in safety footwear and school shoes.
The South African delegation is co-ordinated by the South African Leather Export Council (SAFLEC), that facilitates the growth of exports, supporting emerging companies in finding new markets, and exposing them to international standards and requirements.
The South African footwear industry produces about 60 million pairs of shoes a year. The manufacturing sales value of the industry was estimated to be worth R5.5bn in 2016, up from R4.5bn in 2014. Exports increased by 18%, contributing R4 billion to the country’s economy in 2016 (up from R2 billion in 2012).
On Monday 18 June 2018 from 12:30-14:00, a selected group of partners and buyers will be invited to a special wine tasting event at the South African standin the presence of the Consul: Political of the South African Consulate-General in Milan, Mr Andrew Adams.
